Contract

Contract modal form

Complete contract details, terms, and accounting settings.

The Contract modal form is used to create and edit contracts with business partners. The selected contract type determines the fields on the Accounting tab and the values filled in automatically.

Open the form from the : select Create, or select a row and choose Edit. Normally, the organization, business partner, currency, and required contract type should already exist.

General information

Fields marked with an asterisk are required.

FieldHow to complete it
OrganizationThe organization on whose behalf the contract is concluded. After the organization is selected, its base accounting currency is filled in and its responsible-person and business-segment settings are applied. Changing the organization clears an incompatible contract type or business segment.
Responsible personThe employee or other person responsible for the organization. This field is required.
Business partnerThe other party to the contract. It is required for a regular contract.
Contract typeDefines the business direction and accounting details. Available values depend on the organization.
NameA localized contract name. Complete it in the primary content language; use the language switch at the bottom to enter other versions.
Number, DateThe registration number and contract date. A new record defaults to the current date.
Currency, RateThe contract currency and, when needed, its rate. Currency is required. Selecting an organization fills in its base accounting currency. If the form is opened from a document, the document context determines the currency.
Main contractLeave enabled for a standalone contract. The Additional agreements tab is available for this record.
Additional agreement, Main contractEnable the additional-agreement option and select a parent contract. Main contract and additional agreement are mutually exclusive.
Print nameAn optional localized name that can be used in printed forms.

For a non-resident business partner, the settlement, VAT, and account settings intended for non-residents are filled in automatically. Review the supplied values before saving.

Contract terms

This tab contains commercial terms:

  • Start date and End date — the validity period; a new contract defaults its start date to the current date;
  • Price list and Price type — the price source and the rule used to apply it;
  • Credit depth, days and Credit amount — the agreed deferral period and credit limit;
  • Contract amount — the total agreed amount;
  • Discount percentage — the contractual discount;
  • Commission fee percentage — the fee rate for commission operations;
  • Contract terms — localized free-form text.

These details do not replace source documents. Complete only the terms that your organization uses in its workflow.

Until a contract type is selected, the tab prompts you to choose one first. After selection, default values are filled in from the contract-type settings; review them for the specific partner and operation.

Additional agreements

This tab is available only for a main contract. It displays the date, number, business partner, contract type, currency, and amount of child agreements.

Save the main contract before adding an agreement. Then open Additional agreements and select Add. If the main contract has unsaved changes, a prompt to save it appears. The new card receives its parent contract automatically.

Alternatively, create a new contract, disable Main contract, enable Additional agreement, and choose its parent using the .

  2. Review values supplied from the organization, contract type, and partner status.
