Document forms

Completing, saving, and applying a document.

A document form contains header details and, when needed, tabs, line items, files, and print forms. Its fields and validation rules are determined by the document type.

Completing the form

  • Complete fields marked with an asterisk and values that other fields depend on.
  • Add and verify line items when the document has them.
  • Use selection forms for related catalogs or documents.
  • Check prompts and validation messages before saving.

A value in one field can change the available list in another. For example, after choosing an organization or operation type, the form can restrict values available in related fields.

Saving and applying

Save stores the document without automatic application unless the form states otherwise. Save and close returns to the previous page after saving. Documents that support application can provide a separate Save and apply command or an action in a menu.

After application, some fields or actions can become unavailable. To change such a document, some modules require application to be cancelled first. See the page for the specific document for exact restrictions, application effects, attachments, and print forms.
