Data exchange
Importing and exporting are not universal capabilities of every catalog. When a module supports data exchange, its command is usually available from the list or the Actions menu.
Importing
- Open the import form for the required catalog.
- Download the sample file if the form provides a File sample link.
- Complete the file according to that sample and select the language of imported localized data when the form asks for it.
- Upload the file and wait for the processing result.
After import, BookSoft shows the number of processed, created, updated, and failed rows. When there are errors, check the row number and reason, correct the source file, and import only the valid data again.
Exporting
Some catalogs can export data to a file. The available format, fields, and volume of data depend on the module. Before sharing an exported file, make sure it does not contain personal or confidential data that must not be distributed.
Do not substitute an arbitrary file for the supplied sample or assume that import always creates new records: some modules can also update existing values.
